Kate is bedfellows with Jesus (JC) and Jung. Why not, they all think the same way.
In JC’s teachings people are bad and in need of redemption. Jung also described humans as having a dark side that he called the shadow. The nasty traits of the shadow according to Jung must be acknowledged to get along in this world. And just like Jesus and Jung, Kate thinks that even though humans have the biggest brains on the planet there is no creature more small-minded than a human. A very bad trait. According to Jesus the bad traits begin at birth. Even babies are evil, hence the need for baptism.
Jesus, Jung, and Kate are snug bedfellows because they see humans as full of dark twisted traits that are easily seen in others, but often overlooked in oneself.
